Bodeans -

Often The Boyfriend goes to the office on Sunday mornings. Often The Boyfriend leaves his apartment devoid of any food. Often The Boyfriend loses his spare set of keys and sometimes, he accidentally locks the door as he leaves. This sometimes leaves, me starving stuck inside the apartment, with only juice or tea to provide calories. This is what happened on Sunday.

By 12pm The Boyfriend returned home, having averted a crisis at work but to find me on the verge of meltdown. I had spent the last two hours, considering what I wanted to eat deciding American style comfort food was the only thing that could possibly satisfy me. The Big Easy, The Boyfriend's and I's normal American place was too far away and there was a good chance I would pass out in the taxi, so we decided to try out the much closer Bodean's in Soho.

It was a gorgeous sunny day so we opted for one of the tables in the sunshine. The menu comprised of any every unhealthy American thing you could want. We decided that pulled pork and ribs was the way forward, and a bargain at £10, and The Boyfriend practically ran to order.
The food arrived quickly, along with two mojitos, and was served on trays rather than on plates which was a rustic touch.

The pulled pork, was melt in your mouth-tender. I would have liked the ribs to have had a bit more meat on their bones but what was there was well cooked and flavourful. Perhaps my favourite thing about Bodeans was their BBQ sauce. The Boyfriend and I consumed about half a bottle full and we were both tempted to steal it.

We finished with a couple more mojitos and a beautiful slice of Eli's cheesecake. The staff were friendly and considerate - even asking us if we wanted the heaters on despite being the only people sat outside.

The total damage was around 50 (including 5 mojitos) which seems like a bargain for the two happy hours we spent hanging about in the sunshine.
