Cecconi's - Brunch

Despite having found a pretty perfect Brunch spot in the form of Dean Street Townhouse, The Boyfriend and I decided to check out a similar place on the other side of Regent Street - Cecconi's. We had tested Cecconi's, earlier in the year, for dinner and had come away rather unimpressed, but the breakfast menu looked so appealing we decided to give it another shot.

It hits the mark for glamour, and points for providing decent reading material but sadly the rest was rather lacking. Superficially this place is wonderful, but attention to detail is missing. Both our teapots arrived unpolished, with water spots on them. The Boyfriend's bacon sandwich was so obviously burnt, on most of it, and completely untoasted on the other it was laughable. My hashbrown, duck egg and truffle was served in a dish that made it almost completely impossible to eat with the size of cutlery provided. The hash brown was under-seasoned, and the truffle completely flavourless - a feat I didn't think possible. At least the orange juice was good.

The Damage came to £28
