Travels in Italy (3) - Conti Di San Bonifacio, Tuscany

Somewhere along the dark and windy road from Siena to Ribolla, The Boyfriend and I were in a car crash that killed us both instantly. We must have been. It is the only explanation for how we woke up in heaven the next morning.
Okay, not really. But it is not bad, right? It took all of one hour the next day before we cancelled on our next hotel and extended our stay for an extra two days. The hotel is tiny, only five rooms and for most of our stay we were the only guests staying.

In so many ways it was a perfect hotel. The pool and surrounding area was a perfect place to relax from the stress of being on holiday, the dining area outside had views of the surrounding countryside and the staff were beyond friendly and helpful in offering advice on the best bits of Tuscany to see. Given the lack of other people it basically felt like we had ended up with a whole villa for four nights, at the bargain price of 280 Euros. Even if it had been full, the significant area of living space meant it would be hard for it to feel crowded.

Our room was cute and homey - beautifully put together, and as "un-hotely" as you could get.

The Bathroom was equally adorable but The Boyfriend was constantly driven mad by the lack of a free standing shower.

Dinner at Conti di San Bonifacio, was wonderful and can be read about here. Breakfast was alright, but fairly limited - understandable given there were only two of us though.

All in all, it was a wonderful place to stay perfect in so many ways. The one let down was that the place was billed as a "wine resort", and yet we had no interaction with the wine or growing process aside from drinking the stuff (which was very good).
